Holmes Lilley and Narcissistic Excess

No doubt you have gathered that Holmes Lilley is bit impulsive, showy and driven by his most primal impulses, but the question now remains why? Well, finding out is actually a bit easy if you just use Google. In a profile of Holmes posted  here , Holmes gives us his background. Born in North Carolina, he describes his upbringing as tumultuous and unstable, with his mother working three jobs and resorting to welfare to make ends meet for herself and her children. There is absolutely no shame in this, as sometimes we all need some help, and it surely isn't responsible for the troubles seen later on its Holmes' character, but it likely didn't help. So, where was Holmes' father during his childhood? Turns out, Holmes William Lilley Sr, his father, struggles with drugs and the criminal lifestyle it comes with.   So with all of this talk about the finances of Chartwell, one can only wonder how those at its helm live. Given the amount of debt the company is in, as well as the profile and lifestyle of its average employees, its reasonable to assume that Lilley and Kidan to live modestly. Their online footprint- mainly that of Lilley and his Instagram loving girlfriend, Karen- tell a much different story. Ana Karen Lopez is the 20 something mother of Holmes Lilley's daughter. Her lifestyle, which she flaunts openly on Instagram ( here ), tells of a lavish life of exotic cars, designer clothes, and expensive trips. Chartwell employs thousands of people, whether directly, or indirectly through its clients. An arrangement such as this, where a staffing company like Chartwell advertises for jobs, screens and interviews applicants, and further manages a client's staffing, including payroll, is referred to as co-employment. While perusing Chartwell's website I decided to take a look at what types of positions the company fills on behalf of its clients. As a rule, most of the positions are for general labor, mostly unskilled, like warehouse work, and for relatively meager pay. The screenshot below shows a relatively typical position for which Chartwell fills on behalf of their clients. The open position, in  is for an order picker and packer which pays $14 an hour. An hourly wage of $14 an hour at full-time, averages a salary near $29,000 a year. A company with the size and reputation of Chartwell will have expenses; A business costs money to run and you need to invest in it to see the fruits of your labor. For most entrepreneurs, that means borrowing money, whether it’s just to begin, or if it’s to take your company to the next level.   With such a large judgment placed on Chartwell from the IRS, you would expect Tracy Kidan and Holmes Lilley to be a little more conscientious with any further financial matters. You would expect this, but be sorely disappointed. According to a May 2019 report from IssueWire  ( here ),   Tracy Kidan and Holmes Lilley defaulted on a loan they received from Citizens Bank through a secondary lender, who filed the suit in late March 2019 in Cook County Circuit Court for $4,567,438. While the CEO of Chartwell is Holmes Lilley, the company’s president, founder, and majority owner is Tracy Schneider-Kidan. She resides in the same county as the company’s headquarters, and if one searches the county clerk’s website ( http://prothonotary.co.lancaster.pa.us/civilcourt.public ) using her name as the search-term query, there are several cases that pop up. Of these cases, three are harbingers of the currently dire financial situation that Chartwell is in. I will enumerate on that later, but first, let’s discuss these cases visible on Lancaster County’s website.   In February of 2016, a federal tax lien was filed by the IRS for $228,828.64 against Mrs. Schneider-Kidan. If you notice in the top upper right-hand corner of the document, it clearly states, beneath “area”, that this is in regard to “Small business/Self-employed area.” Currently, Chartwell is the only company registered under Tracy Schneider-Kidan, so in other words, Chartwell Staffing hadn’t paid ...

Chartwell Staffing- headquartered in Lancaster, PA-was purportedly founded by Tracy Schenider-Kidan, in 2011. It has since grown to a company with hundreds of employees and 300 million in yearly revenue. The staffing titan is in a category with other giants of the industry, including Baron HR and Nelson Staffing, and services several elite clients, include Tesla, Thyssen Krupp, DHL and Credit Suisse. Although its main offices are in rural Pennsylvania, its presence is felt throughout the country with offices in major metro areas like Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, and San Francisco.   From the outside looking in, it appears to be a healthy and thriving organization, led by a young CEO, Holmes Lilley.  But everything isn’t as it seems. Chartwell’s destruction is coming from within, and like a freight train, its only picking up speed, and its going to be impossible to stop.
