I'm Gonna Be a Lawyer

According to the interview with Holmes posted last segment, he was unaware where he was headed following college with a degree in English. After discussing his future with the father of a prep-school classmate, Holmes decided to head to law school at Elon University. Upon completion of his legal education, Holmes headed back home to North Carolina to practice with the firm Karen McKeithen Schaede, PLLC in corporate law. After bouncing around between KMS and working as GC for healthcare company HMS, Holmes landed at Chartwell in 2016 as General Counsel. His ascension to CEO came 2 years later and during this time, he simultaneously founded and headed the firm Employer Defense Group LLC. According to its website (here), EDG provides defense against workers compensation claims. They claim to use a pro-active approach to avoiding litigation from occurring, as well as defend its clients when it does.

Wait, what? Yes, you heard that correctly. A man who is currently running a $350 million dollar company into the ground is defending and advising other companies on how to manage their legal risk against employees. Could this be any funnier and/or ironic? Would you hire Holmes Lilley's Legal Defense Group to mitigate and manage your risk as an employer while he is simultaneous destroying a staffing company -the epitome of an employer- from the inside out? If anyone should know better, it is clearly Holmes Lilley.
